A+ Painting, INC is seeking a Professional Sub-Contractor Painter. At minimum, their job is to perform required repairs, paint and cosmetic detailing, provide written documentation of repairs, and ensure that the cranes/boom lifts are in a safe operating condition. These tasks may involve drywall patchwork, log/cedar repair, paint touchups, and the use of hand and power tools. The painter usually works alongside peers or independently with frequent standing and moving.

Contract Description

Responsible for mixing, matching, and applying paint to various surfaces, completing touchups, and coordinating large painting projects.

Contract Responsibilities

Performs repair work on houses, commercial properties, roofs, etc.
Operates a variety of hand and power tools (i.e., paintbrush, rollers, sanders, spray guns, etc.);
Prepares paint by blending and mixing;
Applies primer and paints to the surfaces using brush or spray guns for the purpose of completing required work;
Maintains a variety of records (i.e., maintenance reports, repair reports, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and providing reliable information;
Inspects and ensures that the boom lift is in a safe working condition;
Apply paint to surfaces including canvas, walls, floors, doors, and cabinets;
Mix, match, and apply paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other finishes;
Scrape, sandpaper, prime, or seal surfaces prior to painting;
Clean walls or other surfaces to ensure proper adherence;
Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protection;
Calculate amounts of required materials and estimate costs;
Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives;
Erect scaffolding, movable and immovable staging and various rigging to gain access to difficult areas; moves furniture and equipment as necessary;
Remove fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, lamps, and electric switch covers prior to painting;
Select and buy paint from vendors;
Apply several coats according to paint directions;
Tape off areas when needed;
Apply touchups or second coats;
Remove paint splatters when finished;
Clean up all equipment, including brushes and spray guns;
Utilize spray guns for large jobs;
Work on boom lift and ladders to reach high ceilings or walls;
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must be able to adhere to safety practices;
Must be able to operate tools/equipment used (i.e., paintbrush, sanders, boom lift, paint guns, etc.);
Prepare and maintain accurate records;
Possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent;
Must have valid drivers license;
Must be able to pass a drug test, background check, and fit for duty test.
